Clear Roofing & Exteriors works out of two Pennsylvania locations. Our home base in West Chester puts our crews within a short drive of most of Chester County and the western Philadelphia suburbs, from Downingtown and Exton to Glen Mills and Westtown, north into Montgomery County toward King of Prussia and Collegeville, and down to the Delaware County line. Our second location near Pittsburgh covers Allegheny County and the surrounding communities in the western half of the state. The eastern territory hangs off two road spines. US 202 runs the north-south line past West Chester and West Goshen down toward Wilmington, and US 30, the old Lincoln Highway, runs east-west through Exton and Downingtown. Most of our Chester County jobs sit within a few minutes of one of those corridors. Exton grew up right at the crossroads where Route 30 meets Route 100, Pottstown Pike, and Route 100 carries us north past Eagle and the Marsh Creek subdivisions into Uwchland and Chester Springs. Baltimore Pike does the same work on the southern edge, connecting us to Glen Mills and Concord Township across the Delaware County line.

Working this region for years means we know how its weather treats a roof. The Brandywine watershed pulls summer thunderstorms across the county, and the hail and straight-line wind they carry are the reason many homeowners call. West Chester averages close to 47 inches of rain and nearly 28 inches of snow a year, so a roof here has to survive August hail and February freeze-thaw in the same twelve months. That is where our insurance experience matters most. We photograph the bruised shingles and dented flashing that hide from ground level, write the scope ourselves, and go through it with your adjuster in person rather than letting a lowball first offer stand. Chester County

Chester County is home for us. From our West Chester base we replace, repair, and inspect roofs across the whole county, from historic borough homes to newer developments in Downingtown, Exton, and the Uwchlands. When summer storms drop hail or high wind, we are usually on site fast to document the damage and start the insurance claim.

The housing stock here spans three centuries, and each era fails differently. The blocks around the courthouse on High Street in West Chester still carry slate and cedar hung before asphalt shingles existed, often over original wood decking with two or three layers stacked on top. West Goshen and Westtown filled in during the postwar decades, so whole streets of split-levels and colonials along US 202 and Wilmington Pike age on the same clock and need replacement within a few seasons of each other. Uwchland and the land around Marsh Creek Lake boomed in the 1980s and 1990s, which means thousands of builder-grade roofs from that wave are hitting end of life right now.

North of the turnpike the county turns rural. Chester Springs and West Pikeland hold stone farmhouses and steep-pitched colonials on open, rolling ground where hail and wind get an unobstructed run at exposed slopes. Those older roofs hide their storm damage well. Granule bruising on a weathered shingle is nearly impossible to spot from a driveway, so after any hard cell moves through the northern townships we recommend an inspection before the claim window closes.

Delaware County

Delaware County sits right against our West Chester service area, so towns like Glen Mills and the communities along the Chester County line are a natural fit for our crews. We handle everything from single storm-damaged roofs to full replacements and siding, and we coordinate the insurance claim when wind or hail is the cause.

Glen Mills itself runs from wooded lots near the Newlin Mill Complex on the West Branch of Chester Creek out to the newer developments along Baltimore Pike, and that mix matters on a roof. A centuries-old stone farmhouse and a 2005 subdivision colonial two miles apart need entirely different tear-off plans, fastener schedules, and flashing details. Concord Township's growth in the 1990s and 2000s also means a lot of same-age roofs reaching the granule-loss stage together, which is when one hailstorm can put half a street into legitimate claims at once.

Montgomery County

Montgomery County borders Chester County to the north and east, so its towns fall inside the same territory our West Chester crews already cover. We replace, repair, and inspect roofs from King of Prussia and Blue Bell out to Collegeville, Norristown, and Lansdale, and along the Pottstown and Royersford line where Montgomery County meets Chester on Route 100. When hail or high wind moves through, we document the damage and handle the insurance claim the same way we do closer to home.

The housing here runs the full range. The older river boroughs, Norristown, Pottstown, and Conshohocken along the Schuylkill, carry steep-pitched Victorians and century-old homes where a tear-off often uncovers plank decking and shingle stacked over the decades. The postwar and newer suburbs around King of Prussia, Blue Bell, and the Collegeville corridor off US 422 age on a tighter clock, so whole developments of builder-grade roofs reach end of life together. The same US 202 and Route 100 corridors that carry us through Chester County run straight up into Montgomery, which keeps our crews close enough to reach a job fast after a storm.

Allegheny County (Pittsburgh)

Pittsburgh roofs are a different trade than suburban Chester County. The office at 27 Norton Street sits up on the Mount Washington side of the city, and the neighborhoods we work most, from Dormont and the South Side to the North Side and the river-valley streets between, carry Victorians and steel-era row houses with steep pitches, tight valleys, and shared party walls. Open one of those roofs and you find plank decking, flashing rusted through from two renovations ago, and sometimes three generations of shingle nailed over each other. The terrain climbs from about 710 feet at the rivers to over 1,300 feet in the heights, so wind exposure changes block by block.

Winter is the other half of the Pittsburgh story. The city averages around 44 inches of snow, and when that snow melts off a warm attic and refreezes at a cold eave, the ice dam it forms pushes water backward under the shingle courses. Ice-and-water shield run well past the warm-wall line is standard on every replacement we do here, and ice-dam losses go on insurance claims just like hail does. Between August storm cells and February refreeze, a Pittsburgh roof gets no easy season, and we build for both.
